MEGADETH's MUSTAINE To Host This Weekend's 'Headbanger's Ball'

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine will be hosting this weekend's (Aug. 27) edition of "Headbanger's Ball". "Headbanger's Ball" airs Saturdays at 10:00 p.m. on MTV2.

Mustaine recently parted ways with Sanctuary Records, the label that released three album from MEGADETH, including 2004's critically acclaimed "The System Has Failed", which debuted at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart. The latest MEGADETH release, "Greatest Hits: Back to the Start" (Capitol),entered the Billboard chart at No. 65 and has sold 67,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. On the concert front, MEGADETH are performing this summer on the inaugural Gigantour package tour with DREAM THEATER, FEAR FACTORY and others. The six-week festival trek — with the fan-friendly ticket price of approximately $35 each — is the brainchild of Mustaine, who hand-picked the bands for Gigantour with a focus on musicianship.
